It was fun to participate like a jolly joker in the carnaval...

c ' est belle de voir tout le monde en costume, une personage, tout le monde enmasque...

le fete de fertilite.... le debut du printemps... les fetes d'entree du printemps chez les anciens greques, les fetes de saturno chez les romains,chez les teutones la diosa herta -mere terre..

Aussi du temps de mon enfance...

Met de wind als een spattende zeepbel gedreven
naar de oneindige koepelruimte
in blauw
en met licht
in de ogen van alle kinderen,giganten en kabouters,chinese prinsessen en arabeskische
tinten,
en te ontdekken... gewoon te genieten van die innige gelaatstrek van ontspanning
een simpele lach

There are origines in the roman saturnalia or festivals for the god Saturnos. The latin god who the Latins educates in agriculture and other arts.

It comes from the italian words ,carne vale, carne adios,an indication of the permitted sensuality in the carnavaldays before the fastingtime...
Also derived from the roman expression carnavale, carrus navalis,
the boatcar pulled by horses and accompanied by caravans of masked
dancers with provocative dances and obscene gestures.

With the teutons or celts it's called fasnacht
In greece it was partied at the beginning of spring and the beginning
of the harvest.
by way of processions, with cars full of masked people dancing and singing in full happiness...

In Greece it was partied in the 6th century before christ( paintings)
In Rome it were the processions dedicated to the egyptian goddess Isis, The latin god Bacchus and Saturno and with the teutons(celts and germans) dedicated to the goddess Herta

In south america it falls together with the Indian celebration
of the spring-equinox
